Why Catholic? Social and Lecture Series
Reverend Monsignor Martin Laughlin - Mission of the Baptized
Wednesday, May 28, 7:00 pm
Pauline Book & Media Center, 243 King Street

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!
Come! Celebrate the season one finale of Why Catholic? this Wednesday, May 28 at 7:00 pm.

Our holy and esteemed Diocesan Administrator, the Reverend Monsignor Martin Laughlin, will be gracing us with his presence as we conclude the first season of the Why Catholic? Social and Lecture Series. Monsignor will be providing us with an inspiring and motivational exhortation on the mission and calling all baptized Christians share in.
What does it mean to be Christian?
As a Christian how should I live and what should I expect in life?
Being Christian is not easy, how can I endure to the end?
Do I have the courage to lay down my life for Jesus Christ?

"If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." (Luke 9:23)

"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven." (Matt 7:21)

"If I preach the gospel, this is no reason for me to boast, for an obligation has been imposed on me, and woe to me if I do not preach it!" (1 Cor 9:16)

"Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me." (Matt 25: 40)

"This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends" (John 15:13)

We are so fortunate and blessed that the busiest and most in-demand priest in the diocese has chosen to come and impart his wisdom and love for Jesus Christ to us. Let us show our gratitude by showing up on time and in great numbers. Last month we were bursting at the seams for seating, but this month we will be prepared! Following this event, we will be taking the summer off and resuming in September.

Mary, Mother of our Savior and Help of Christians; pray for us!
Bishop Fulton Sheen, Servant of God; pray for us!
Pope John Paul the Great, Servant of God; pray for us!

Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and unto the day of eternity. Amen.
