"Come Away..." with your fellow Cathedral Young Adults on a Retreat!

Cathedral Young Adult Group Retreat “Come Away…”
Basic Details… April 15th – 17th, 2011

- Open to any young adult (18-35) from anywhere in the Diocese of Charleston who is interested in joining a group of their peers, getting away to prepare themselves for Holy Week, leading into Easter!
- Camping on the shores of Lake Moultrie approximately 30-45 minutes from the Charleston area depending on where in the area you live. (Map will be provided)
- Two campground sites and a two bedroom villa (for the less outdoors inclined), showering and restroom facilities are available at the site - Costs of villa and sites were donated and are at no cost to those of us on this retreat.
-To participate in the coordinated meals by Mr. Jamiel Kadri is a donation of $20 – Deadline to let us know of participation is April 8th. Includes 5 total meals and is inclusive of limited drinks and some snacks.
- Retreat T-Shirts are $8 and can be ordered by emailing Cathedralyag@hotmail.com – Should be paid by April 10th.
- Please coordinate bringing tents with other participants or contact the Cathedral Young Adult Group and we can help you coordinate with others for a tent. Also let us know if you would prefer to stay in the villa.
- Please bring other camping, recreational/sports and fishing equipment, plus plenty of water!

Schedule…

Friday April 15th
Arrival Setup – 3 p.m.
Dinner – Grilling Fish – 6 p.m.
Rosary and Stations of the Cross – 7:30 p.m.
Speaker – “Why do we need to Come Away…?” – 8:30 p.m.
Group Discussion – 9 p.m.

Saturday April 16th
Morning Prayer – 7 a.m.
Breakfast –Over the Fire Breakfast with a Reflection on Gospel of St. Matthew Chapter 5 – 8 a.m.
Fellowship Time - 9 a.m.
Personal Holy Hour (Everyone is encouraged to go alone somewhere peaceful to pray and reflect) - 11:30 a.m.

Lunch on the Beach– 12:30 p.m.
Fellowship and preparation for the evening – 1:30 p.m.
Dinner with a Speaker (to be announced) - 6 p.m.
Women and Men Discussion Groups – 7:30 p.m.
A night of prayer, music, reflection and the possiblity also of Confession. In keeping camping tradition we will have smores and other snacks perfect for roasting over a fire. – 9 p.m.

Sunday April 17th - Palm Sunday!
Morning Prayer - 7:30 a.m.
Bagel Sandwich Breakfast – 8 a.m.
Tear down, clear out and clean up of Campsite and preparation for Mass - 9 a.m.
Depart for 11 a.m. Palm Sunday Mass at St. Philip Benizi in Moncks Corner - 10:15 a.m.

Feel free to invite anyone who would be interested. Also, if you are able to make it to any part of the retreat, but may not able to make it to all of it, we encourage you to join or leave at any point to participate in as much of the retreat as possible. Please RSVP via email by April 10th.
