Interview: Meet Katie Grieshop

If there were a Catholic Mensa Society, Katie (wearing the Clemson shirt) would be a shoe-in. She has been an active member of the young adult group for a couple of years and can summarize large portions of sacred scripture like no other. If you see her around, say hello. And if you have any questions about the Catholic faith, ask her, she's probably got the right answer. Age? 23 Where were you born, and where have you lived? Born Columbus OH Lived: Ohio, South Carolina, Missouri, Kentucky Where did you attend college and what did you study? United States Air Force Academy, Civil Engineering What do you do for work? US Air Force, Civil Engineer What do you do for fun and recreation? Run, read, puzzles, dance, enjoy good conversation and good food Favorite books? The Chronicles of Narnia, The Bible, The Catechism, Outlaws of Ravenhurst Favorite Movie? Ben-Hur, The Chronicles of Narnia, We Were Soldiers, Kingdom of Heaven Briefly explain your journey of faith, and how you've come to embrace your faith as a young adult: I was born and raised in a Catholic family. In college I was involved with a group called FOCUS, the Fellowship of Catholic University Students. FOCUS really showed me how to live an authentic Catholic life and the joy it could bring. It set a real fire in my heart for the Catholic faith and I strive to grow deeper in faith each day. Favorite or Patron Saint? Why? Saint Joan of Arc - She wasn't afraid to stand up and fight if that was what she needed to do. Favorite thing about being Catholic? The Eucharist. The ability to receive our Lord, body, blood, soul, and divinity into our very selves is such an incredible gift. What do you enjoy about the adult group? The fellowship with Catholics close to my own age who challenge me to grow in my faith and help me on journey here on Earth. Apple or PC? Why? Apple, they are in season right now.
